The 7th International Workshop on Ion Beam Applications is being organized at the National Centre for Physics (NCP), from January 13-15, 2026. The workshop is centered around the Pelletron Tandem Accelerator and ion implanter facility available at NCP, which serves the national needs as well as international collaborators regarding ion beam applications in various scientific domains. The main idea of holding the workshop is to familiarize the students and researchers about the applications of accelerators in their respective fields of research. The workshop will highlight the emerging technologies and prospects in the field of ion solid interactions as well.
Major Topics
- Ion beam induced defects in semiconductors, bulk materials and nanostructures
- Ion beam analysis techniques (RBS, ERDA, PIXE, PIGE)
- Thin film thickness, depth profiling, interface diffusion of elements, homogeneity of single and multilayer films
- Detection and monitoring of trace elements in sample matrix
- Analysis of light elements at the verge of detection limit
- Charged particle activation (CPA) and nuclear reaction study
- Low/High energy ion implantation/irradiation
